Fasteners for the construction sector: metal structures

Structural fasteners are crucial components in the construction sector, playing a critical role in the integrity and safety of structures like buildings and bridges. Not only do these fasteners need to be robust and durable, but they also need to be able to withstand different tensile loads and environmental conditions over time.

At CHAVESBAO, we offer a range of structural fasteners specially designed for industrial hardware, supplies and structures.

High-strength fasteners for metal structures

When choosing materials for the construction of metal structures, the integrity and safety of the overall structure are paramount. In our catalogue, we offer a range of high-strength, preloaded and non-preloaded fasteners that are ideal for these types of applications. Preloaded fasteners are subjected to a load that exceeds that required to keep the parts together. Non-preloaded fasteners, on the other hand, are used in applications where operating loads are low and there is not expected to be significant vibrations or dynamic loading:

  • Preloaded high-strength fasteners: this type of fastener meets the EN 14399-4 standard setting out the requirements and test methods for different types of fasteners used in steel structures. Our set of EN 14399-4 high-strength class K1 fasteners is HV and CE marked. We also offer these products in a range of different finishes to better suit the environment that they will be used in: black, zinc and hot-dip galvanised.
  • Non-preloaded high-strength fasteners: non-preloaded fasteners for metal structures are based on the EN 15048 standard. The set consists of either an ISO 4014 or ISO 4017 bolt and an ISO 4032 nut with CE marking. The set is used in situations where strength and rigidity of the joint can be assured without the need for preloading. Our catalogue includes versions with a zinc or hot-dip galvanised finish for all types of applications.
